Last Night’s Best Series:

Cincinnati came back from a 6-1 deficit but Philadelphia prevailed winning 9-6 in 10 innings.  Wilson Valdez with 4 RBIs and Brian Schneider with 3 were Philadelphia hitting stars.  Brad Lidge was the winning pitcher, Arthur Rhodes the loser.

Los Angeles scored 4 runs in the 6th and went on to defeat Texas 6-5.  Bobby Abreu drove in what would prove to be the winning run.  Joel Pineiro was the winning pitcher and Scott Feldman took the lose.

Pennant Race Baseball is back!  After a period of interleague play that seemed to take forever to complete, the twwo best series this go round are TEX @LA and  PHI @ CIN.

Last Night:

Cincinnati starter John Cueto gave up only one run on six hits over 8 innings and Scott Rolen with 3 RBIs and a HR, powered Cincinnati to a 7-3 victory over Philadelphia.  Kyle Kendrick was the losing pitcher for Philadelphia.

Toronto salvaged the last game of their 3 game series beating Tampa Bay 3-2.  Alex Gonzalez’s sacrifice fly in the 8th scored Dewayne Wise with what would prove to be the winning run.  Brett Cecil with 6.2 innings of 3 hit ball gets the win.  Wade Davis took the lose.

Tampa Bay again thrashed Toronto, this time 10-1.  Sean Rodriguez went 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs.  David Price was the winning pitcher; Shaun Marcum the loser.

St. Louis’ 4th inning rally fell short by one as Los Angeles swept the series, winning 4-3.  2B Blake DeWitt singled in what proved to be the winning runs in Los Angeles’ 3-run 3rd inning.  Clayton Kershaw was the winning pitcher for LA.

Manny Ramirez doubled in the winning run in the 8th inning, as Los Angeles squeaked by Atlanta 1-0. Hong-Chin Kuo was the winning pitcher, Trevor Miller the loser.

Carlos Pena ensured Tampa Bay’s 9-1 victory over Toronto with a grand slam HR in the 6th.  It was his second HR of the evening.  Jeff Niemann pitched a complete game for the victory.  Brian Tallet took the lose.
